Abbi’s “Anchored in Hope” Scholarship

In memory of former Jefferson student Abbi Smith, these scholarships are awarded to students with Abbi’s pursuits and dreams in the areas of sports and fine arts.

Aenille-Stewart-Swaney Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating Washington High School senior. Recipient determined by Washington High School staff

Alan Zazza Memorial Scholarship

For a student active in Business Education courses at Jefferson High School.

Alice F. Bizulis Memorial Scholarship

To be awarded to one student at each CRCSD high school in a special education program who intends to pursue further education or training after high school.

Andrew Seiler Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is given in memory of Andrew Seiler, a 2017 graduate of Kennedy High School. Andrew studied Japanese for four years at Kennedy and participated in the school’s exchange program visiting Japan. The scholarship makes it possible for a deserving Kennedy student with financial need to visit Japan as part of the Harry Preston/Student Abroad Program.

Barry & Gilda Boyer-Van Meter Inc. “Power Your Future” Scholarship

Funded by the Boyer’s and Van Meter Inc. to encourage and support students going into the electrical trade to become an electrician. Awarded by application.

Bill Lammers Technical Theatre Scholarship

To be awarded to a senior who has been involved as a “techie” during their years at WHS.

Bob Brooks Memorial Scholarship

In tribute to, and memory of, the inspiration of legendary eastern Iowa sportscaster, Bob Brooks. Student must be planning a career in the field of journalism, including but not limited to broadcast, print or new media.

Bonnie Dodge Instrumental Music Scholarship

Scholarship determined by music department staff for an instrumental music student from Washington High School who will pursue a post-secondary degree in music.

Candace Lynch “Future Ready Leader” Scholarship

Awarded to a graduate of Harrison or Johnson elementary schools who is pursuing any post-secondary program, including 2- or 4-year academic, military, or trade. Priority to student eligible for free or reduced lunch.

Chris Cruise Memorial Scholarship

Determined by the Warrior men’s swimming team coaching staff, for a WHS student who has a 3.0+ GPA, with a post-secondary education plan. Student must be a servant leader and, like Coach Cruise, bleed Red & Blue!

Colin Taylor Memorial Scholarship

In memory of Colin Taylor, a 2011 graduate of Kennedy High School, for a student who both played baseball and was a member of Happiness, Inc. Student must have plans to pursue higher education in any field.
