Legacy Society

Chartered in 2019, the Legacy Society was created to express appreciation and recognition to individuals committed to Cedar Rapids public school education. The Legacy Society honors those whose meaningful planning and foresight will advance the mission of the Foundation: “to ensure excellence in public school education.”

Directing all or a portion of your estate to the Foundation enables you to make gifts that may not be possible during your lifetime. We are happy to work with you to help determine the best way for you to leave your legacy to public school education, applying your gift to any program in which you have interest.

Certain types of gifts can even minimize estate and capital gains taxes, providing sizable tax deductions that may not be possible through lifetime donations.

What can you give?

  • Cash
  • Stocks/Bonds
  • Retirement Assets
  • Life Insurance
  • Real Estate/Personal Property

Member benefits include:

  • Invitations to exclusive District & Foundation events
  • Updates on current and new program initiatives
  • Personal, tailored financial reports
  • Recognition in the Legacy Society’s donor honor roll in the Foundation’s annual report
  • Annual member-only event
