Kids in the Community

Cedar Rapids Community Schools Foundation Partners With Hills Bank and Trust Company to Fund Student Field Trips

Each year, more than 200 field trip grants are awarded to District schools to benefit nearly 5,000 K–12 students. Field trips include visits to places throughout the Corridor, such as: the Cedar Rapids Art Museum, Cedar Rapids History Center, 5 Turner Alley, Mississippi River Museum, State Capitol, Wickiup Nature Center, Blank Park Zoo, Indian Creek Nature Center, African-American Museum, and the Iowa Children’s Museum.

“Hills Bank and Trust Company’s generous contribution to the Kids in the Community program means that Cedar Rapids public school students have the opportunity to experience curriculum based, hands on learning at many of the cultural, educational, and historical sites in and around our community,” Foundation Executive Director Karen A. Swanson, CFRE.
