John Hegarty Scholarship
In honor of John Hegarty, long time science teacher and wrestling coach at JHS, for a student who excels in the classroom and in the wrestling room.
John M. Secl Memorial Scholarship
To be awarded to a Metro High School graduating student with financial need by providing funding for participation in science, technology, arts, mathematics, and engineering activities and/ or to pursue college level classes.
John W. Whipple Memorial Scholarship
To be awarded to an outstanding history student, as determined by faculty, who has maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher.
John Wojtowicz Memorial Scholarship
In honor of Jefferson High School Academic Decathlon Coach, John Wojtowicz, for a member of the Academic Decathlon team who represents his dedication to learning.
Judy & Larry Blum Scholarship
For a Jefferson student who has expressed an intention to pursue a career in either elementary education or special education. Must have demonstrated a strong work ethic, leadership, good character, and positive community involvement during his/her high school years.
Kandi Anderson Memorial Scholarship
For a WHS graduate known for their kindness and willingness to help others.
Legacy Scholarship
Created by the WHS Class of 2013, to be awarded to a senior who works to promote the legacy of their graduating class above their personal legacy.
Malik Sheets Memorial Scholarship
In memory of WHS student Malik Sheets, to honor an African American AP scholar who has been involved in athletics and community service and/ or internship during high school.
Michelle Pinkston Memorial Art Scholarship
To be awarded to a student with exceptional ability and spirit in the area of visual/ photographic art. Established in memory of a promising graphic arts Kennedy alumnae.
Nancy Parmater Champion Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Nancy Parmater Champion, a 1965 graduate of Jefferson High School, for a graduating Jefferson senior with plans to enroll in the field of journalism or related field of communications at a college or university. Recipient must have participated in the school yearbook, school newspaper, or any other continuing school publications. Student should display leadership characteristics and a reasonable degree of academic achievement.
Nate Dunn’s “Next Generation of Leaders” Scholarship
To provide a scholarship to a District graduate with a desired passion in leadership.
Neon Dragon Tattoo Scholarship for Artists
Awarded to a senior who seeks to further their study and artistic abilities in the field(s) of visual and/or graphic arts. Funds may be used for art supplies and/or college courses that include art. Essay & Portfolios to be reviewed by and winner determined by Jason Evans, owner Neon Dragon.
