Colin Taylor Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Colin Taylor, a 2011 graduate of Kennedy High School, for a student who both played baseball and was a member of Happiness, Inc. Student must have plans to pursue higher education in any field.
Sean Wu Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Sean Wu, a 2016 graduate of Kennedy High School, for a student who plans to pursue higher education in a creative career field. Student must embody Sean’s spirit, original humor, interest in creative writing and cinematic arts, academic excellence, and the ability to brighten everyone’s mood.
Otto F. Wiedersberg, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
To be awarded to an outstanding business education student planning to enroll at a community college or technical school.
Irene Wiedeman Memorial Scholarship
To be awarded to an outstanding business education student planning to enroll in a program of business education at an institution of higher learning.
Thomas R. White Memorial Scholarship
Given to a minority student under the age of 19 who has a 2.5 GPA or better. Graduate must have noted financial need with plans to enroll in an accredited college or university.
John W. Whipple Memorial Scholarship
To be awarded to an outstanding history student, as determined by faculty, who has maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Andrew Seiler Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is given in memory of Andrew Seiler, a 2017 graduate of Kennedy High School. Andrew studied Japanese for four years at Kennedy and participated in the school’s exchange program visiting Japan. For a Kennedy High School graduate who has made outstanding personal growth. Determined by counseling staff.
NextGrad Scholarship
For one student at JHS, KHS, and WHS who has financial need to achieve any type of post secondary education. Determined by counseling staff.
Candace Lynch “Future Ready Leader” Scholarship
Awarded to a graduate of Harrison or Johnson elementary schools who is pursuing any post-secondary program, including 2- or 4-year academic, military, or trade. Priority to student eligible for free or reduced lunch.
Walter & Ida Kansky Charitable Fund Scholarship
Award to one student from each of the CRCSD high schools who will pursue further education in a trade program, vocational institution, or college. Financial need preferred. Recipient to be determined by individual high school staff.
JFK Senior Leader Award
Given to a senior providing a lasting mark on Kennedy through spirit, service, and leadership. Once who will “leave Kennedy a better place and will leave a positive impression for years to come.”
Sabrina H. Jackson Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship in memory of Sabrina Jackson, a 2020 graduate of KHS, whose life ended tragically in June 2021. Student awardee should display the personal characteristics of Sabrina – kind, patient, empathetic, studious. Ideally, student will have an interest in Asian studies, music education and/ or political activism.
Friends of the City-Wide PTA Scholarship
For an average student (GPA 2.5 to 3.5) planning to attend a post-secondary institution of any kind.
Scott Ewoldsen Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship
Scholarship in memory of Kennedy Class of 1985 student, Scott Ewoldsen, for a Kennedy student active in drama, music, journalism and/ or art. Must have been involved in the activity for at least two years and planning to attend college.
James & Janet Erbe Scholarship
In recognition of Jim and Janet Erbe, technical theatre directors at Jefferson and Kennedy, for a student active in their school’s technical theatre program, showing qualities of learning and leadership in any/ all aspects of technical theatre: set design and creation, lighting, sound, props, makeup, costumes, and stage management.

Bob Brooks Memorial Scholarship

To be awarded to one student at each CRCSD high school in a special education program who intends to pursue further education or training after high school.
Paul Anthony Memorial Music Scholarship
Established in 1967, this scholarship is in memory of Paul Anthony, long time music teacher at McKinley and Washington. Student winner is chosen by audition process. Notification to Foundation by District Music Facilitator.
