Established in honor of former WHS Swim Coach, Jim Voss. Chosen by swim coaches for a senior with a post-secondary plan.

WHS Class of 2024 Scholarship

Created by the Class of 2024 to recognize two seniors who have: held one or more leadership positions while at Washington, have plans for post-secondary education, and a GPA 3.0+

Peter Westphalen Choral Music Scholarship

Established to honor Peter Westphalen, WHS Class of 1986 and Washington vocal music director (2011-2024) upon his retirement. Chosen by WHS Choir Directors for a student who intends to continue music participation in college.

Chris Cruise Memorial Scholarship

Determined by the Warrior men’s swimming team coaching staff, for a WHS student who has a 3.0+ GPA, with a post-secondary education plan. Student must be a servant leader and, like Coach Cruise, bleed Red & Blue!

Steve Strong Computer Scholarship

In honor of retired Washington High School Computer Science teacher, Steve Strong. To support a WHS graduate pursuing an education/career in computer science.

Susan Hovelson Shimon Memorial Scholarship

To be given to a deserving graduating senior from Washington High School, whose high school education program included an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), as a reward for the student who, despite a disability, has been admitted to a 2- or 4-year accredited college or university.

Malik Sheets Memorial Scholarship

In memory of WHS student Malik Sheets, to honor an African American AP scholar who has been involved in athletics and community service and/ or internship during high school.

Shawn Dennis Shaw Memorial Scholarship

Richard & Jeanne Sentman Scholarship

Two scholarships will be given annually – one to a male and one to a female Washington High School graduate. Each student must have attended Arthur Elementary School for at least 4-years.

Schroeder Family Music Scholarship

In honor of WHS alums Pam & Kate Schroeder, to reward an outstanding 4-year music student (instrumental or vocal) who plans to pursue music in college.

Orville Rust Memorial Scholarship

Awarded by the WHS coaching staff and administration, the scholarships will be given to an outstanding male and female athlete who meets the eligibility requirements set forth in the scholarship agreement document on file with the WHS Activities Director.

NextGrad Scholarship

For one student at JHS, KHS, and WHS who has financial need to achieve any type of post secondary education. Determined by counseling staff.

James Miller Band Scholarship

To reward an outstanding student participating in WHS Band who meets the eligibility requirements set forth in the scholarship agreement document.

Candace Lynch “Future Ready Leader” Scholarship

Awarded to a graduate of Harrison or Johnson elementary schools who is pursuing any post-secondary program, including 2- or 4-year academic, military, or trade. Priority to student eligible for free or reduced lunch.

Legacy Scholarship

Created by the WHS Class of 2013, to be awarded to a senior who works to promote the legacy of their graduating class above their personal legacy.

Walter & Ida Kansky Charitable Fund Scholarship

Award to one student from each of the CRCSD high schools who will pursue further education in a trade program, vocational institution, or college. Financial need preferred. Recipient to be determined by individual high school staff.

William & Donna Frese Scholarship

Awarded by the WHS coaching staff and coaches, the scholarships will be given to an outstanding male and female basketball athlete who meets the eligibility requirements set forth in the scholarship agreement document on file with the WHS Activities Director.

Paul Anthony Memorial Music Scholarship

Established in 1967, this scholarship is in memory of Paul Anthony, long time music teacher at McKinley and Washington. Student winner is chosen by audition process. Notification to Foundation by District Music Facilitator.
